Fiverr Acquires Ukrainian Digis Group
The Israeli company Fiverr has acquired the Ukrainian business of Digis Group, which includes the companies Digis and Scalamandra, Scroll.media has learned.
- The deal was finalized in 2024, but for several months, it remained under wraps to allow for a smooth transition and the completion of administrative procedures.
- Digis Group employs approximately 220 people across its two Ukrainian entities, Digis and Scalamandra. The companies merged in 2024, partly as a result of their upcoming deal with Fiverr.
- Nick Nagatkin, founder of Digis, will continue working within the newly merged structure.
- Meanwhile, Ilya Podavalkin, founder and CEO of Scalamandra, is exiting the business to focus on new projects. «That was the plan from the very beginning,» Podavalkin told Scroll.media.
The parties have not disclosed the value of the deal. Podavalkin also cited NDA restrictions preventing him from revealing financial details, saying only: «The share for Scalamandra was less than $1 million.»
However, according to Scroll.media’s analytical department, the total deal value is estimated to be between $9 million and $14 million.

It remains unknown whether the entrepreneurs received the payment in cash, Fiverr shares, or a combination of both. This information is also covered by the NDA.
As a result of the acquisition, the entire Digis Group team is now part of Fiverr, increasing the company’s workforce by more than 20%.
For reference, Fiverr is a global freelance services marketplace. In 2023, the company reported $361 million in revenue. Fiverr is publicly traded on the stock exchange.
Digis Group
Scalamandra was founded in 2020 by Ilya Podavalkin and a partner. The name combines «Scala,» the programming language, and «salamander.» Within a year, Podavalkin became the sole owner, and at its peak, the company had a team of 25 people.
In 2023, Podavalkin received an investment from Digis, founded by Nick Nagatkin in 2015, which had grown to a team of 200 employees. The two entrepreneurs began collaborating on joint projects and, by the spring of 2023, were operating as business partners with plans to merge if growth continued.
That merger officially took place in 2024. «Due to the NDA, we couldn’t talk about it at the time and simply announced the merger,» Podavalkin recalls.
Part of the team continues to operate from Ukraine.
