EIT Urban Mobility Offers Up To €2M in Funding for Mobility Startups
Startups and projects focused on urban logistics, public transport, data management, electrification, and alternative fuels can now apply for up to €2 million in funding through the EIT Urban Mobility program.
- The total budget for the program for 2026–2028 is €60 million. Individual projects can receive up to €2 million, with a maximum reimbursement of 65% of total project costs. Applicants must co-finance at least 35% of the budget.
- Currently, eligible fields include urban logistics, public transport, mobility data management, transport electrification, alternative fuels, and the intersection of health and mobility. In the future, the program may expand to include additional focus areas.
- To apply, a project must involve at least two legal entities from different EU countries or countries associated with Horizon Europe, including Ukraine (the full list is here). Applications must be submitted jointly.
- The first application deadline is September 25, 2025, with EIT Urban Mobility aiming to fund projects totaling €9 million in this round. Three additional funding rounds are planned in the following years.
- EIT Urban Mobility was launched in 2019 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Its mission is to accelerate the shift toward sustainable urban mobility by connecting startups, businesses, universities, research institutions, and the public sector with access to markets, talent, funding, and expertise.
As a reminder: Ukrainian deep-tech startups are also eligible for up to €500,000 through the EIC Pre-Accelerator program.
