50 Largest IT Companies in Ukraine: Ajax Systems and Nova Digital Among Growth Leaders

DOU has released its winter ranking of the largest IT companies in Ukraine by number of specialists. The ranking includes IT professionals currently in Ukraine as well as those who have relocated abroad but continue to pay taxes in the country.

  • Hiring activity has resumed. The outflow of specialists to EPAM and SoftServe has nearly stopped.
  • The top growth leaders are Ajax Systems (+749 specialists) and Nova Digital (+323).
  • Among product and hybrid companies, 14 showed growth in headcount, while 10 experienced a decline. Most service companies did not grow.
  • Two new companies entered the ranking:
    • Together Networks, which operates in data mining and social discovery, now has 621 specialists in Ukraine.
    • ISD, which develops healthcare solutions, returned to the ranking with 761 specialists.
  • Meanwhile, GeeksForLess Inc. (600 employees) and GR8 Tech, (553 specialists in Ukraine) dropped out of the list.
  • The current ranking includes: 25 service companies, one outstaffing company, 19 product companies, five hybrid companies.
  • In total, the 50 largest IT companies in Ukraine employ 79,600 specialists.
  • In 2024, these companies lost about 2,000 specialists—significantly less than in 2023, when the decline was around 10,000.
  • Nearly half of the companies still cite challenges with legalizing relocated specialists abroad as a major reason for workforce reductions.
  • Four companies lost more than 200 specialists, and another four lost over 100.
  • Among companies with positive dynamics: nine were product companies, three were hybrid, four were service or outstaffing companies (Modus X, N-iX, SPD Technology, and ALLSTARSIT)

No New Offices Opened in Ukraine in 2024

  • Most companies maintain offices in Kyiv (46) and Lviv (23). Only ten companies still have offices in Kharkiv, compared to 25 three years ago.
  • Four companies closed offices in Ukraine in the second half of 2024: Avenga and Playrix in Kyiv, SQUAD in Uzhhorod, GlobalLogic in Mykolaiv.
  • Eight companies opened new offices abroad during the same period — mainly in Europe, as well as in India and Argentina. No new offices were opened in Ukraine last year.
