One of the largest IT companies in Ukraine, SoftServe, has announced the expansion of its SoftServe partnership with Universities program. This was reported by Ekonomichna Pravda. The purpose of this program is to make education closer to the current needs of business, to help universities prepare students for market requirements and real workflow.
What do you know about SoftServe?
SoftServe has been working with universities and students for many years to help make technology education more applied and relevant to the demands of modern IT business. SoftServe partnership with Universities aims to deepen this cooperation and accelerate the transformation of IT education in Ukraine.
«In the IT industry, you can feel how fast time is running. Programming languages and technological solutions are constantly transforming, and new specialties are emerging at the intersection of existing ones. For example, DevOps and System Integration are new trends that no one could have even guessed about 10 years ago. It is not easy for businesses to adapt to them, let alone education. University graduates come to us with very strong basic training, and then we help them acquire project management skills, teamwork, etc., which are equally important for a successful career start. It is in order to combine these two areas of training that we offer universities a partnership. After all, the transformation of education will significantly strengthen the IT industry, which is based on qualified specialists,» said Andriy Pereymybida, Director of Talent Acceleration Center at SoftServe.
How to participate?
The SoftServe partnership with Universities program can be applied for by the university as a whole or by teachers individually. The company is ready to help, in particular, in the following areas: – Development of new and updating of existing curricula; – Cooperation of teachers with company experts; – Intensive courses in technical areas for teachers; – Organization of crash courses and internships for students. As part of the program, SoftServe recently held the I-TECH TEACHERS conference, a two-day intensive course for university professors of IT-related fields. The course was held in Lviv and brought together more than 70 teachers from different universities in Ukraine. The company’s top management and leading technical specialists held a series of workshops and presentations to immerse the teachers in the reality of the Ukrainian IT industry, to convey the reality in which IT companies operate and, accordingly, the challenges that students face when they come to work. The company plans to make the I-TECH TEACHERS intensive course an annual event and hold it not only in Lviv but also in other cities to share the most relevant knowledge, trends, and discoveries with university professors.
