Many tourists don\u2019t associate Lviv region with hiking \u2013 they mostly go there for cultural, historical, or medical recreation. However, it is in the Lviv region that the Carpathian Mountains begin, so there are many hiking trails for those who are not afraid to test their strength with long walks among the picturesque landscapes. UNIAN.Tourism will tell you about one of the most beautiful hiking routes in the region.<\/p>\n

First of all, Skole<\/a> district is associated with mountain recreation in Lviv region, with the towns of Slavsko<\/a> and Skole<\/a> as its central points. However, gradually, the village of Skhidnytsia<\/a> in Drohobych district, a health resort that began to be developed only in the early 2000s, is joining their cohort. It is from there that we will start our route. In general, there are many options for hiking routes of any complexity from Skhidnytsia, but we decided to focus on one big one that will allow you to visit a lot of interesting locations in one go \u2013 a circular route to Urych, almost 30 kilometers long and lasting about seven hours (if you don\u2019t make long stops for a rest and visit tourist locations). If you have the strength, time, and inspiration, you can extend it to make it even more intense.<\/p>\n

Stop 1: Skhidnytsia <\/b><\/h2>\n

Tourists can stay either in Skhidnytsia itself \u2013 there are plenty of hotels to suit every taste and budget \u2013 or in the neighboring resort town of Truskavets<\/a>. Direct trains run to the latter from Kyiv and Dnipro (though tickets are almost impossible to buy during the tourist season), and from there you can get to Skhidnytsia by minibus (the first one leaves at 7:30 a.m. and covers the route of just over 20 kilometers in 50 minutes, passing the town of Boryslav, the ticket price is 45 hryvnias). It is best to start the route near the Okko gas station, which is also where you can stop the bus if you are traveling from Truskavets. The first section of the route goes almost in a straight line, flowing from one village to another, and on the way you will come across several shops where you can buy what you need (but if you go on Sunday, they may be closed while the locals are in church).<\/p>\n
