The Scroll.media editorial team talked to Pete Benedetto, head of Endeavor Catalyst in the EMEA region, and learn more about the community and its investment firm, Endeavor Catalyst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Endeavor Catalyst Fund<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Endeavor Catalyst is Endeavor\u2019s own investment fund, and it\u2019s not limited to the US or Europe. As Pete explains, the team invests globally across all 45 markets where the Endeavor network operates, backing startups that are part of its community. The fund has made investments everywhere from Silicon Valley to Africa, with each deal approved by an investment committee chaired by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abCurrently, about 17\u201318% of our investments are in Europe, another 17\u201318% in the Middle East, and around 8% in Africa. So, the EMEA region accounts for roughly 45% of our capital. Our latest fund, Fund IV, is close to $300 million, which means about $150 million will go to EMEA,\u00bb Pete says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Endeavor Catalyst also has a unique model with a philanthropic twist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>50% of profits are returned to LPs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The other 50% is returned to Endeavor, split evenly between the global office and a local office chosen by the LP. This helps sustain and grow the community worldwide and locally.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Endeavor Catalyst Invests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Endeavor Catalyst is industry-agnostic \u2014 it doesn\u2019t pick favorites when it comes to sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abOur goal is to back startups that can scale fast, operate globally, and play in high-growth industries,\u00bb Pete explains. \u00abOur investment thesis is simple: find the best entrepreneurs, no matter what industry they\u2019re in.\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>One key condition: only companies that are already part of the Endeavor network are eligible for investment. In Ukraine, five startups have already made the cut. \u00abThese founders have been through our selection process \u2014 we know them, we trust them,\u00bb Pete says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1400\" height=\"875\" src=\"https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1b-venture-backed-companies.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1b-venture-backed-companies.png 1400w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1b-venture-backed-companies-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1b-venture-backed-companies-1024x640.png 1024w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1b-venture-backed-companies-768x480.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund often backs startups in Fintech, e-commerce, MedTech, HealthTech, B2B services, and AI, among others. The only field Endeavor Catalyst hasn\u2019t touched yet is Defense Tech \u2014 though Pete says that could change, especially since they\u2019re now investing in SpaceTech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The average ticket size is around $1.5\u2013$2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crucially, Endeavor Catalyst never acts as a lead investor \u2014 it always invests as part of a larger round. \u00abWe\u2019re partners. We want the round led by a fund, usually local, that really understands the market and the industry. So we keep strong ties with local funds,\u00bb Pete notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wherever Endeavor operates, a local board of directors helps run the organization, fund the local office, and mentor founders. This local board identifies high-potential companies and guides them through Endeavor\u2019s selection pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abAfter that comes the International Selection Panel (ISP), our global selection event. It happens every month \u2014 founders go through interviews and, if selected, officially join the Endeavor network and become eligible for Endeavor Catalyst funding,\u00bb Pete explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1400\" height=\"875\" src=\"https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/endeavor-catalyst-annual-deployment-a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/endeavor-catalyst-annual-deployment-a.png 1400w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/endeavor-catalyst-annual-deployment-a-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/endeavor-catalyst-annual-deployment-a-1024x640.png 1024w, https:\/\/scroll.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/endeavor-catalyst-annual-deployment-a-768x480.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike many VC firms, Endeavor Catalyst doesn\u2019t take board seats, and its share of any round never exceeds 10%. So in a $20 million round, the fund would contribute no more than $2 million. \u00abThis lets us be a meaningful part of the round without crowding others out,\u00bb Pete says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund also helps connect founders to Tier 1 investors worldwide. \u00abLast year, we helped Turkish startup Insider <a href=\"https:\/\/useinsider.com\/news\/insider-announces-500m-series-e-led-by-general-atlantic\/\">raise<\/a> $500 million, led by General Atlantic. In total, we helped over a hundred of our entrepreneurs close funding rounds,\u00bb he adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which Ukrainian Startups Can Get Funded?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abFirst, talk to Sviat or his team,\u00bb Pete laughs, referring to Sviatoslav Sviatnenko, managing director of Endeavor Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then come the hard numbers: you need more than just an idea. A working business model, clear product-market fit, at least $5\u20137 million in annual revenue, fast growth, and global ambitions if you\u2019re still focused only on the local market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abOne more thing. The world still doesn\u2019t realize how many outstanding founders there are in Ukraine \u2014 how many amazing companies are being built in tough conditions, often with little outside help.
