Quantum Systems Raises €180M, Valuation Hits €B

German defense technology startup Quantum Systems is raising a new round of funding, with its valuation set to triple, according to Bloomberg.

  • The latest round raised €180 million, bringing the company’s valuation to €3 billion. Talks for the deal began back in October 2025 and have now been successfully closed.
  • In May, the company closed a €160 million round at a €1 billion valuation.
  • Balderton Capital is leading the new investment, with Peter Thiel, Porsche Automobil Holding SE, and Notion Capital also participating.

The defense startup plans to use the fresh capital to scale production of its unmanned systems. Quantum Systems was founded in 2015 but truly hit its stride after 2022, when its revenue began to surge.

The company also operates an office in Ukraine and has invested in the local defense tech startup Frontline. Its technologies are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Quantum Systems additionally manufactures drones for the local market. The company employs a total of 550 people, including a team based in Ukraine, with additional locations in Germany, Romania, and Australia.
