Via Debuts on NYSE With $3.6 Billion IPO; TA Ventures Among Investors
Via Transportation, a leading player in the mobility sector, has officially gone public on the New York Stock Exchange.
On its first day of trading, the company reached a market capitalization of $3.6 billion, raising $493 million in the process. Shares opened above expectations at $49 apiece, compared to the initial price range of $40–$44.
While Via does not operate in the Ukrainian market, the IPO is notable for Ukraine because one of Via’s early backers is Viktoriya Tigipko’s TA Ventures. The firm previously invested in Fleetonomy, a startup acquired by Via in 2020. Instead of exiting at that point, TA Ventures retained its stake and remains a shareholder today.
«This is already the seventh IPO from our portfolio,» the TA Ventures team told Scroll.media, noting that they continue to hold shares in Via.
Other TA Ventures portfolio companies that have gone public include Marley Spoon, Sleepz, Boku, Bravofly, Xometry, and Induction Healthcare.
