Ukrspecsystems, a Manufacturer of UAVs, Opens Factory in the UK

Ukrspecsystems, a Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles, has launched its first defense production facility in the United Kingdom. The announcement was made by Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK.

«This is not a shift of the center of gravity away from Ukraine. It is an expansion of our joint capabilities and the creation of a second line of defense that guarantees continuity of production,» Zaluzhnyi said.

«We are keeping the core engineering expertise in Ukraine while integrating production into the British defense sector.»

  • According to Zaluzhnyi, the project provides Ukraine with greater stability and the ability to plan long term. For the UK, it strengthens the domestic defense industry, provides access to technologies proven in modern warfare, and creates new jobs.
  • The production launch was first announced in September 2025. At the time, the company said it would invest £200 million (approximately $250 million) in the project. The main plant is located in Mildenhall. In addition to the 11,000-square-meter manufacturing facility, the company also announced plans to build a testing and training center in Elmsett.
  • Last year, Ukrspecsystems was included in a global ranking of the world’s top drone manufacturers. Earlier, we reported on the new SHARK-M unmanned aerial system, which Ukrspecsystems developed specifically for autonomous reconnaissance and surveillance at a practical depth of up to 180 km.
