Seeds of Bravery Results After Two Years: €12M in Grants and 37 Success Stories
On December 20, 2023, the Seeds of Bravery grant project marked two years since its official launch. Over this period, the initiative delivered measurable results in both funding and startup support.
- Seeds of Bravery UASEEDs) is a €20 million project funded by the European Union under the European Innovation Council (EIC). The program supports Ukrainian technology startups and helps them integrate into the European innovation ecosystem.
- Over its two years of operation, Seeds of Bravery has awarded €12 million in grants.
- The project distributed 451 grants to more than 320 companies.
- The program received 2,173 applications, primarily from Ukrainian startups. However, founders from several other countries also applied, including the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Estonia.
- Most applications came from startups operating in Deep Tech, Infrastructure, Education and Science, Healthcare and Life Sciences, and Agri-Food.
- The initiative also highlighted 37 success stories, which it published in the book «Roots of Innovation: Inspiring Startup Stories» and presented at IT Arena 2025 in Lviv.
Beyond financial support, Seeds of Bravery runs more than 17 non-financial programs. Key achievements across these programs include:
- 45 startups completed the Deep Tech Incubators program, with another 20 currently participating
- 63 startups graduated from the Deep Tech Accelerator Program, delivered across five cohorts
- 79 startups completed the Digital and Deep Tech Booster Program, also run in five cohorts
- 236 teams successfully finished the Science2Business program
- 532 free tickets enabled startups to attend 34 major technology exhibitions across Europe
- 310 participants completed two iterations of the Investment Literacy Program for Business Angels
- 20 Market Discovery workshops covered 37 countries, attracting 2,338 views and participants
- 60 coworking spaces in Ukraine and across Europe offered free access to Ukrainian startups
- 184 mentors joined the UASEEDs network
- 76 participants successfully completed the Summer School on Entrepreneurship
