Quantum Systems and Frontline Robotics have announced Europe’s first fully automated, industrial-scale production line for drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Production will operate under the umbrella of Quantum Frontline Industries, a newly established German-Ukrainian joint venture in the defense sector, as reported to Scroll.media by Frontline Robotics.

Production is set to begin in 2026 and will be financed by the German Ministry of Defence. The plan is to hire about 200 specialists, with a focus on Ukrainians living in Germany.

What Is Known

• As the company told Scroll.media, QF Industries is financed by the German Ministry of Defence, though the total investment is not disclosed. The launch is planned for the first quarter of 2026.
• The joint industrial line will produce the Zoom and Linza drones, developed by Frontline Robotics. For security reasons, the exact location of the new joint venture will not be disclosed.
• Quantum Systems will provide industrial infrastructure and administrative support, while Frontline Robotics will contribute production licenses, as well as training and onboarding of staff in Germany.
• Quantum Frontline Industries also promises employment opportunities for Ukrainians in Germany. Currently, they are looking for technicians, engineers, and UAV test operators. Among those who can strengthen the team are Ukrainian military pilots currently living abroad after demobilization.

«We plan to hire around 200 specialists. One of the KPIs we set for ourselves is to employ Ukrainians who, due to Russia’s military aggression, ended up in Germany,» the company told Scroll.media. «We provide an opportunity for everyone willing to contribute to the defense of their country while also getting decent work and building a career in defense technology.»

• The launch of Quantum Frontline Industries builds on a strategic partnership between the two companies signed earlier this year. In April 2025, Frontline Robotics raised seed investment, with Quantum Systems as lead investor. The German company now owns 10% of Frontline Robotics, with the option to increase it to 25% within the next 12 months. The deal was finalized in July.

• The project is implemented under the Build with Ukraine initiative. 100% of robotic systems manufactured in Germany will be supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in volumes defined by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
• As Scroll.media noted, once production is established, automated lines are developed, and supply chains are streamlined, the enterprise could start cooperating with European partners, provided there is demand, after meeting Ukraine’s needs.
• According to Mykyta Rozhkov, Chief BD Officer at Frontline Robotics, «During wartime, it is difficult to find safe locations within the country. Therefore, launching the joint venture in Germany is a logical step. This allows the Ukrainian company to expand production capacities not only with the support of a strong European partner but also without the risk of destruction by Russian missiles.»

Frontline Robotics is a Ukrainian defense-tech company founded in August 2023 by four Ukrainians. Since 2014, the founders have created a number of technologies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which have been successfully adopted and battle-tested. The company focuses on creating aerial and ground robotic systems for defense and assault: reconnaissance UAV Zoom, drone bomber Linza, and robotic turret Buria.

Quantum Systems is a German developer of intelligent unmanned systems. In November, Quantum Systems raised €180 million, increasing its valuation to €3 billion. The round was led by Balderton Capital, with investors including Peter Thiel, Porsche Automobil Holding SE, and Notion Capital. In May, the company closed a round of €160 million at a valuation of €1 billion, meaning its valuation had tripled in six months.
