Ukrainian IT Expands to Poland: 600+ Companies Launched Since Full-Scale Invasion

Poland has emerged as one of the top destinations for Ukrainian IT companies looking to expand since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to DOU, citing data from Opendatabot, 610 Ukrainian IT firms have been established in Poland since early 2022.

While Ukrainian companies were already entering the Polish market before the war, the invasion significantly accelerated the trend:

  • 2022 — 249 companies (41 in January–February)
  • 2023 — 189 companies
  • 2024 — 147 companies
  • 2025 — 65 companies (as of early July)

Although the 2025 figure is currently lower, there’s still plenty of time for that number to grow before year’s end.

In total, as of July 2025, 29,044 companies are registered in Poland with Ukrainian citizens listed as ultimate beneficiaries. Notably, over 13,000 of these companies were launched after the start of the full-scale war.

The most popular cities for Ukrainian tech entrepreneurs are Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw, with Warsaw leading the way, hosting almost half of the newly registered companies.
