Dmytro Shvets, one of the co-founders of the well-known Ukrainian startup Reface, has announced his new venture and its first funding round. The startup, called Mirai, has secured $4 million in investments. Scroll.media learned about the deal from its own sources.

• Simply put, Mirai is an «AI in a box» solution for iOS and macOS: it lets developers quickly integrate AI features into their products. The team has already released an SDK to make this happen. What makes Mirai stand out is that its AI works entirely offline, with no internet connection required.
• Mirai supports models like Llama 3.x, Qwen 3, Gemma 3, DeepSeek-R1, and more.
• The team promises integration in just 10 minutes even for developers with no AI expertise.
• The product was developed over the past few months in stealth mode and officially launched in July 2025.
• Mirai’s second co-founder is Alexey Moiseenkov, the co-founder of Russian photo app Prisma.
• The Mirai team includes former members of both Reface and Prisma.
• Mirai has attracted $4 million from investors including Sequoia Capital, Scout Fund, Index Ventures Scout Fund, Z Venture Capital, and several business angels.

After stepping down as Reface’s CEO, Dmytro Shvets moved to the US and worked with Andreessen Horowitz to scout promising startups. The American firm invested in Reface back in 2020. Shvets has also been active as an angel investor himself — he backed Polish AI startup ElevenLabs, valued at $3.3 billion.
